On the Higher Order Corrections to Heavy Quark Effective Theory
We show that the different ways of deriving the Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) lead to equivalent theories. The equivalence can be established through a careful redefinition of the field variables. We demonstrate the equivalence to order 1 m in the presence of a constant electric field.

We use the QCD sum rule approach to calculate the splitting between vector and pseudoscalar mesons containing one light and one heavy quark, and the kinetic energy of the heavy quark. Our result for the splitting induced by the chromomagnetic interaction agrees to the experimental data on charm and beauty mesons. For the matrix element of the kinetic energy operator, we obtain the value K = −(0...

In the heavy quark effective theory, hadronic matrix elements of currents between two hadrons containing a heavy quark are expanded in inverse powers of the heavy quark masses, with coefficients that are functions of the kinematic variable v ·v′. For the ground state pseudoscalar and vector mesons, this expansion is constructed at order 1/mQ. A minimal set of universal form factors is defined i...

The analysis of l/m; corrections of the previous paper is extended to the semileptonic decays of heavy baryons. We-focus on the simplest case, the ground state hQ baryons, in which the light degrees of freedom are in a state of zero total angular momentum. The formalism, while identical in spirit, is considerably less cumbersome than for heavy mesons. The general results are applied to the semi...

We show how heavy quark effective theory, including 1 MQ corrections, may be matched onto dynamical quark models by making a specific choice of Kμ,m and vμ in the pμ = mvμ + Kμ expansion. We note that Wigner rotations of heavy quark spins arise at O(p2/m2) in non-relativistic models but at O(ΛQCD/MQ) or O(velocity − transfer) in HQET and so are necessary for a consistent treatment. May 1992 FEC...
